Davis Series AFS Keyway Cutter - 3/8" Width

The Series AFS Staggered Tooth Cutters cut more efficiently and do not load with chips when cutting Keyways over 5" long which are 1/2" in size or larger. In many cases, they eliminate the need for taking pilot cuts. They are also recommended when keywaying harder materials such as stainless steel. Although primarily designed for use in the Model 15 Davis Keyseater, they may also be used in all models of Davis Keyseaters.  Series AF and AFS Cutters can also be used in all Davis Keyseaters. Note: Some AF and AFS Cutters must be altered to fit Model 5 Keyseaters (Up to Serial Number 5-1363) at an additional cost of $175.00. Please call to check compatibility. All Model 5 machines (Serial No. 5-1364 and higher) will accept AF and AFS Cutter without alteration.

Series AFS Cutters are AF type Cutters with a staggered tooth configuration. Series AF Cutters are designed with side clearance, a rake angle and a relief angle for the higher speeds and feeds demanded by automatic cutting. They are accurately hardened and ground to provide optimum cutting efficiency and better finishes. 

All standard Cutters are ground to .0005" to .0015" larger than the standard Keyway size and are furnished witha 10 degree rake and a 3-1/2 degree relief angle.
